What is Shuttlecock?
An international sport that bridges cultures and historical eras.
Shuttlecock is an international sport derived from Jianzi. Players keep a feathered shuttle in play using the feet and permitted body parts, combining touch, timing, balance and fast tactical exchanges.
Core characteristics
- Agility, rhythm and coordination.
- Control comes from the feet, legs and full body movement.
- It is not badminton nor volleyball: play unfolds over the net.
From Asia to Europe and beyond
Rooted in international shuttlecock traditions such as Jianzi, Da Cau, Labtoll Labda, Federfussball, Calciovolano, Plumfoot, Jegichagi, and Lianga, the sport now connects players, federations, and competitions across Europe and beyond.
Not badminton
No racket. No hand contact. The body is the instrument.
